We are recruiting for a Trainee Accountant to join Record’s Finance team. This role is suitable for someone joining after A-Levels as an apprentice or as a Graduate. As the Trainee Accountant, you will provide Record group companies with financial support as required. Key business cycles include revenue, purchase ledger, cash management, tax, internal and external reporting, fixed assets, budgeting forecasting, and analysis.

We offer the ability to work from home some days of the week.

Record Currency Management

Record Currency Management is an established, independent currency manager, managing approximately $83.1 billion (as at 31 March 2022) in client currency exposures. Our clients are largely institutions, including pension funds, charities, foundations, endowments, and family offices. Record’s services include bespoke currency hedging, currency for return and additional currency solutions and consulting services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring reconciling the bank accounts
  • Invoice approval and posting and managing the supplier payment runs
  • Reconciling the bank, intercompany, suspense accounts, fixed assets and VAT accounts
  • Calculating and paying monthly inter-company amounts
  • Managing the daily cash requirements of the Group
  • Preparing monthly prepayments and accruals schedules and postings to the accounting system
  • Preparing monthly lease journals, investment and derivative journals
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and preparing the Group VAT return
  • Supporting the Management Accounts, Statutory Accounts and the budgeting processes
  • Preparing and understanding the quarterly fee calculations and preparing the invoices
  • Debtor analysis and collection
  • Preparing ONS statistical returns.


  • 3 A-Levels, one to include Mathematics or a degree
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, works well both in a team and independently.
